Paul Gallagher has been a landscape photographer for over 27 years, dedicating his photography to Northern England and the Scottish Highlands. He began his photographic career studying graphic design and photography at Southport College of Art in Lancashire, from which he gained a distinction in photography. This led him to work professionally at a commercial studio in Liverpool. Some years later Paul was invited to return to teach photography at Southport College
Although Paul printed in darkroom for over twenty years, Paul has now traded the dark room for the use of digital print production is regarded as an expert in the use of the 5×4 view camera. Paul is an acclaimed workshop leader and lecturer throughout the UK and Europe regarding the fine black and white image and techniques in both the use of large format equipment and fine art digital monochrome print production.
Paul is the author of two books exploring black and white photography, “Aspects of Expression” and “Chords of Grey”.
