Ann-marie Conlon grew up in Scunthorpe, UK before moving to Leeds. She also lived in different parts of London, before returning to Leeds. Ann-marie likes to document the every day in particular the realities of life for people who live on the margins of society. Ann-marie studied a Mixed Media Art Degree at Westminster University and then moved to New York City USA to do an Internship at Magnum 2001. She also volunteered at International Centre of Photography in New York City 2001.
Ann-marie has received funding from Kodak and The Salvation Army towards a project looking at the social differences between The Salvation Army in Queens, New York City and Bradford in the UK. Ann-marie has exhibited in Photomonth in East London, 2003 and at the NEC Birmingham, 2004.
In 2006 she received a workshop scholarship from Magnum, to document a Curry House in Brick Lane, East London. The work was exhibited at Calumet Photographic in London NW1.
