LEILA ROMAYA

Leila Romaya

Leila Romaya‘s early career as a photographer began in Italy where she lived for seven years (1998-2004). Leila took advantage of her previous career as a professional dancer performing across Europe, which resulted in her developing a large body of her early work through commissions documenting contemporary theatre productions across Italy. This resulted in exhibitions in Empoli, Cagliari and Liverpool. After a successful career in Italy Leila returned to her hometown of Liverpool where she has worked as a freelance photographer and educational practitioner, since 2005, and founded the non for profit organization Stray Cat Media in 2007.
