Marketa Luskacova’s background was from a Central European tradition of art and scholarship, originally a sociologist she brings to her work a sense of belonging and understanding of the east end markets and the immigrant communities who are drawn together by economic necessity. She has an ethnographic eye that detects the ragged edges of living at the margins that is far away from the modernist and mechanised metropolis.
