Capture Liverpool workshops for children

Look11, Liverpool’s new photography festival, and Redeye, the Photography Network, are delighted to announce the launch of Capture Liverpool, a brand new competition sponsored by Liverpool ONE and Liverpool City Council, with £2500 in prizes. There are seven prizes on offer; five prizes of £500, plus two special prizes for the under-14s, for the best new images from Liverpool (UK).

Liverpool ONE will be exhibiting all the entries that meet the competition criteria from 27 May to 25 June 2011, alongside enlargements of the judges’ choice of the first six of the winning entries. There will also be the opportunity to vote at the exhibition for the winner of ‘The People’s Choice Award’.

As part of Look11, Liverpool ONE is hosting a week of workshops for children aged up to 13, delivered by Photomobile (www.photomobile.org) in the run-up to Easter. The workshops will teach children how to capture the best shots, with experts on hand to give top tips and advice. The workshops will run from 11th to 15th April and the sessions will start at 13:30, 14:30 and 15:30. The competition is open to all. The deadline for entries is 9th May 2011 and there is a limit of one image per person.
