Even some of the visual content will be driven by photographers through competitions and uploads” says Daniel Cutmore, Look11 Festival Manager.

Herald as a ‘one stop shop’ for the photography scene in Liverpool and afar it will bridge the gaps between the critically engaged and the bedroom blogger which beforehand felt miles apart. Being able to link with and respond to many of Liverpool’s cultural drivers will bring about lively, active and personal access throughout the Liverpool arts scene.

Creative people will be titillated by the freedom of expression and given a platform to communicate what they’re passionate about in the creative sector, around photography and about social justice issues.

The interactive site aims to forge new relationships between experienced and budding photographers , support the scene and promote innovation. This is what the festival really boils down to; being inclusive and widening participation in photography in a way that is new, exciting and progressive. An eclectic mix of people, photography styles and views will be what drives Look11: Liverpool International Photography Festival to be a stand out event.

“Audience participation is paramount” says Artistic Director Stephen Snoddy, “The message is to ‘stop, think, examine and debate” “In the climate we find ourselves there has never been a more relevant time to take action and be heard. Photography may be the tool to use and our theme of ‘A Call to Action? will look to question it’s strength”
